This tour will begin with an introduction to St. Mark's Square and its architectural wonders. Once you leave the square, your guide will take you to the Castello area, where you will stroll through the narrow streets, called "calli", the bridges, the canals and the picturesque squares called "campi". You will visit Campo Santa Maria Formosa, one of the largest squares in Venice, Campo SS Giovanni e Paolo, the residence of Marco Polo, the famous Venetian explorer, and the Malibran Theatre.
On your way back to St. Mark's Square, after a short break of about 15 minutes, you will enter St. Mark's Basilica. With its numerous golden Byzantine-style mosaics, it has been considered one of the most beautiful basilicas in the world, a must-see during your stay in Venice. Together with the Doge's Palace, also located in St. Mark's Square, it represented the power and wealth of the Serenissima during the Doge's era and is still a true spectacle to behold.
