Transfer to Pompeii in the new, comfortable, air-conditioned minibuses, guided by experienced and professional staff. The journey from Naples to Pompeii takes approximately 40 minutes, and arrival is scheduled around 11:00 am.
In Roman times, Pompeii was a rich and densely populated city, with public and private buildings, whose approximately 20,000 inhabitants were buried by a blanket of volcanic ash in 79 AD after the explosion of Vesuvius. A shower of lapilli charred and covered the city by more than 6 metres. Centuries later, the grooves formed by the decomposition of organic materials within the ash mantle have allowed archaeologists to reproduce plaster casts. During the two-hour walk, your guide will show you the most impressive sites, such as the Forum, the Thermae, the Lupanare and an example of a Domus with frescoes and mosaic floors.
After a short lunch break, you will continue by minibus to the Sorrento peninsula. On the way, you will admire the medieval castle from which the town of Castellammare di Stabia takes its name, the small and charming beaches of Vico Equense and Seiano and the typical Mediterranean vegetation that gives the landscape a unique liveliness with the colours of lemons and oranges.
A short stop at the viewpoint Meta di Sorrento will allow you to admire the panorama of the sea from the bay to the island of Capri.
Once in Sorrento, your guide will take you on a walk (about one hour) around the city's most famous places. You will admire the panoramic views where you can enjoy the beauty of the gulf up to Punta Campanella and immortalise the Sorrento landscape with postcard pictures. Return to the hotel around 5 pm.
